Usually seven tournaments are held each season on a different course, one in each month from November through May. Tournaments are usually held on Monday afternoons, depending on club availability. Failure to play in at least two tournaments each season could be cause for forfeiture of membership at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

If the April tournament is over-subscribed (when spouses are customarily invited for dinner), preference will be given to members who have played in two tournaments from November through March.

All tournament pairings and teams are made up by the professional at the host club. Tournaments are usually restricted to the first 128 entries. Tournament costs are currently running on the average of $98.00, which includes green fees, electric carts, prizes and dinner (lunch is sometimes included). Entries are accepted on a “first-come” basis. If your entry is not accepted, you will be notified by phone by your club director and your payment will be refunded. If you are eliminated from playing in a tournament because of over-subscription, you will not be eliminated from any future tournaments for the balance of the year.

Entry forms must be filled out in full, including member’s name, club, home phone number and USGA slope handicap. Failure to do so may cause your entry to be rejected.

If you have additional questions, please contact the director representing your club. Refer to Board of Directors page on the website.

Value-Added Membership Benefit:

As an added benefit to your AzSGA membership, we have established a joint membership program with the Seniors Golf Association of America (SGA). Your SGA membership dues will be waived, and you will be able to participate in any of their tournaments for just the cost of their events.

The Senior Golfers Association of America was founded in 1976.  It conducts a number of senior amateur championships for gentlemen and ladies each year. These events are held throughout North America. SGA championships are recognized as prestigious, professionally organized senior amateur tournaments.
